Proposed Ordinance – Setting of Electric Rates

BOROUGH OF MIDDLETOWN PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of the Borough of Middletown will be considering for adoption the following Ordinance at the Regular Business Meeting on August 6, 2025 at 7 P.M. in the Council Chambers of Middletown Borough Council located at Borough Hall, 60 West Emaus Street, Middletown, Dauphin County, PA  17057:

 ORDINANCE NO. 2025-1421

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE BOROUGH OF MIDDLETOWN, PART II (GENERAL LEGISLATION), CHAPTER 144 (ELECTRIC SERVICE), SECTION 144-22 (RATE SCHEDULE), TO PROVIDE FOR THE CUSTOMER CHARGES, DEMAND CHARGES, AND MINIMUM MONTHLY CHARGES FOR ELECTRICITY SERVICE FROM THE BOROUGH TO BE SET BY RESOLUTION OF BOROUGH COUNCIL.

A summary of the proposed amendment to the Code of Ordinances is as follows:

Section 1 provides that the Residential Service monthly customer charge per electric meter and the Residential Service minimum monthly charge shall be set by resolution of the Borough Council. Section 2 provides that the Commercial-General Service monthly customer charge per electric meter, the Commercial-General Service demand charge rates and the Commercial-General Service minimum monthly charge shall be set by  shall be set by resolution of the Borough Council.   Section 3 provides that the Commercial-Industrial Service monthly customer charge per electric meter, the Commercial-Industrial Service demand charge rates and the Commercial-Industrial Service minimum monthly charge shall be set by resolution of the Borough Council and Section 6 provides that the proposed Ordinance shall become effective in accordance with applicable law.
