The Borough of Middletown will be implementing a new billing format later this year that will break out the customer service charge from the per kilowatt rate charge (Electric line on bill). The customer service charge is NOT a new charge on your utility bill; it is being separated to provide a better understanding of the costs that make up your total bill.
Electric customers will now see three lines on their bills instead of two lines, as noted in bold below:
Electric Use: Per kilowatt rate times kilowatt use, which includes a distribution charge (Borough of Middletown), energy charge (BP Energy) and the transmission capacity charge (PJM).
Electric Customer Service Charge: Flat rate covers the cost of providing metering, billing and maintenance for equipment located at and specifically to service your property.
Refuse: Trash pick-up through Penn Waste
