Wood Waste Facility Changes in Middletown

Middletown Borough, Lower Swatara Township and Borough of Royalton residents who utilize the Woody Waste facility in Middletown, please note the following changes:
 
Facility Regulations:
1. Entry cards must be purchased annually at Middletown Borough Hall prior to using the facility. Cash is not accepted for purchase. The license plate of the vehicle used to bring in material is necessary to obtain a card. If you are towing a trailer, the license number of the towing vehicle is required.
2. Permits may not be purchased at the woody waste facility. Permits are assigned to the vehicle and are not transferrable. Permits must be in the vehicle when using the facility.
3. The facility will be open to the public from 8 AM to 7 PM Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The gate will be inactivated outside of these times.
4. Dates of operation will be March 2, 2021 through January 8, 2022. The gate will be inactivated outside of these times. Cards will be deactivated after 1/8/22.
5. Unauthorized dumping or dumping prohibited materials will result in card deactivation and loss of use of the facility.
Acceptable Items:
Leaves, branches (up to 12” in diameter), garden waste, brush, and tree trimmings. All material must be free of stone and dirt.
 
Unacceptable Items:
Unacceptable items: grass, sod, branches larger than 12” in diameter, material with dirt and stone attached, rocks, dirt, lumber, construction material.
 
Mulch & Leaf Compost:
Mulch (single-grind woody waste) and leaf compost is FREE while supplies last. Self-service only. Borough employees cannot use equipment to load materials for you.
 
Fees:
Residential only – no commercial/contractor use:
• Middletown Resident Annual: $10.00
• Lower Swatara/Royalton Resident Annual: $50.00
