Pair of Middletown men arrested on theft charges

A pair of Middletown men were behind bars Thursday following their arrest on retail theft charges.

Middletown Borough Police said Ralphe Kimmey, 47, and Jeremy Martz, 32, both of the 200 block of South Union Street, were arrested Thursday afternoon after they were caught working in concert to steal alcoholic beverages from the Wine and Spirits Shop in the Mid-Town Plaza in the 400 block of East Main Street.

Police said Martz was also seen on in-store surveillance cameras stealing over-the-counter medication from the Giant Foods store in the plaza.

The two were arraigned in Dauphin County Night Court on one count each of Retail Theft-Taking Merchandise, a third degree felony and committed to Dauphin County Prison when they were both unable to post $5,000 bail.

Preliminary hearings for both men are set for 9 a.m., June 5, in front of District Judge David H. Judy.
