The Director of Communications serves as editor of Middletown Mattters, the Borough's newsletter, and maintains the Borough's web and social media pages.

The Director of Communications also serves as the Borough's press secretary and spokesperson, is the Public Information Officer for Emergency Management, and is the Borough's Right-to-Know officer.

Additionally, the Director of Communications assists the Borough Manager as directed.
